Home Inspections

Home inspections provide critical information at the time of purchase, but they can also be a useful tool when trying to solve an ongoing problem, deciding on whether to remodel, rebuild or move.

The most common home inspection is the one that is typically required during a home purchase. There are a number of home inspection companies out there. Why should you choose Michaud Engineering? As a member of the National Academy of Building Inspection Engineers (NABIE), our inspectors are licensed professional engineers that not only have an engineering degree, but years of experience in building inspections of all types.

We take the time to write our Residential Building Inspection Reports in narrative, plain English format, not checklists with cryptic categories and classifications. If there are areas of concern, they will be highlighted and summarized. We also take extensive photographs and use these photographs to illustrate various building systems and any areas of concern that need to be addressed.

As an additional service for those properties served by a private well system, Michaud Engineering can have the water tested and included in the building inspection report. Please note that samples must be delivered to the lab within 30 hours, so inspections with water tests should be scheduled on weekdays or other arrangements will need to be made.
